Roman's 3am review of Lena's unauthorized procedure. She expects a dressing-down. She gets a dissection.

A multi-vehicle accident. Twelve simultaneous traumas. The entire cohort under fire for the first time.

Post-brutal-shift, Sloane drags the cohort to Reel, the dive bar across the street. First time they're humans, not doctors. Roman exists only as a 2am page Lena doesn't answer.

A patient dies on Lena's watch — not from error, from speed. She handles the family notification by going cold. Roman finds her in the stairwell.

Lena finds the roof. Roman is already there. She doesn't have a clean reason to stay. She stays.

A combative patient. Roman takes a cut to the forearm. Lena sutures it in a supply closet. His thumb over her work, three seconds too long.

36 hours off. The residents surface into daylight like they've forgotten what it looks like. Someone's apartment, takeout, a walk. Roman sends one text.

A combat veteran in psychiatric crisis. Roman takes the case with terrible efficiency and then disappears. Lena finds him in the hospital chapel.

Julian goes over Lena's head on a case and is wrong. The fallout fractures the cohort. Sloane picks a side loudly. Leo mediates, badly.

Lena makes a real mistake. Review board. Roman cannot defend her but does not let them overreach. Parking garage after: she leans against him for thirty seconds.

The same 24-hour diner at 4am, unplanned. A conversation that has nothing to do with medicine. The almost-kiss that is interrupted. Roman's presence still in the city around them.

City blackout at 2am. Emergency backup power. Red light and broken cameras. Four hours working the floor in the dark, and then the grid comes back.

Morning after the blackout. The hospital knows something shifted. Sloane definitely knows. Julian is strange. Leo asks Lena directly if she's okay, and means the real question.

06:00–07:00. The last hour of the shift. Lena's transfer request. Roman finds out. Six words. They walk out into the morning.
