Amelia follows her best friend and an unimpressive date into the city's most notorious bar, hoping to convince the owner to hire her as a bartender. Instead, she's immediately dismissed by the frustratingly handsome Jayden Carter, who insists she has no business working—or even lingering—in a place like his. Determined not to be brushed aside, she playfully flirts, only to find herself completely ignored. By the time she gives up, her friend has disappeared with her date, leaving Amelia stranded in one of the last places she wants to be after midnight.
